After listening to "This American Life" on summer camp and then the "Paperclipping Roundtable" all about nostalgia, and after realizing that there are only three weeks left to my kids' summer vacation, well, I'm feeling a lot of nostalgia for my days of summer camp in Massachusetts and Maine. I went to Camp Farley; Camp Snipatuit; Camp Molly Mollasses and Camp Massasoit. The first two were sleep away horseback riding camps and the second two were day camps. When I went to Camp Massasoit, my Grandma Grace would often pick me up and then bring me for ice cream and then she'd stop at the vegetable stand. So the photos in my Summer Camp Nostalgia page aren't of camp, but are of the post camp ride home with Grandma Grace. But right now? I have a serious urge to drive north with my kids and rent a cabin or get into the woods somehow with the kayak strapped to the top of the minivan and the trunk chock full of things like our archery set and bags of marshmallows.
