1. To restart YOGA & to practice "YIN YOGA". I got a jump start on this yesterday and tried YIN YOGA at Yoga Etc. in St. Petersburg. Here's the class description: "Quiet your mind, increase your energy and go deeper with Yin Yoga. Yin yoga focuses on gently stretching the tough connective tissues that make up our joints, particularly the lower spine, hips and pelvis. In a Yin Yoga class we hold poses for three to ten minutes. Holding the poses for a long period of time brings new depths in postures allowing for deeper ranges of motion, and increased energy flow throughout the body. Who doesn’t want, or need, more energy! The gentleness of this practice allows your mind to quiet, offering deep relaxation and time for your body to recharge, getting you ready for your next task at hand." It was some long overdue intense stretching - I recommend Yin Yoga and I'm planning to make this part of my fitness routine.
2. To start an 8 week Introduction to BELLY DANCING class. Belly Dancing is supposed to be good for the core and for the back. Also Belly Dancing uses improvisation! So I'm excited about that. (See my posts on Scrapbook Improv).
3. I'm seriously considering trying the Whole 30 Program for the next 30 days - see a trend here? I really want to get into better shape, inside and out. I haven't totally mentally committed yet but I plan on getting in the right head space for this commitment sometime today.
4. I'm also considering (ok I'm committing for real) doing an October scrapbook blog series called "Scrapbooking My Mid-Life Crisis". I googled that term and found "The Big 40: Scrapbooking My Mid life Crisis" but I don't see much in the way of scrapbooking there - maybe I'm just missing it. But my thought is that I will create scrapbook pages in October all about this phase of my life - I am 43 and I do feel a bit of unidentified angst about this stage of my life, I want to dive a bit deeper into that and make some positive changes
What are your plans for October 2013?
I'd love for to you join me in my evolving "Scrapbooking My Mid-Life Crisis" blog series - even if you aren't actually going through a mid life crisis.
