Welcome to Day #2 of my Stash Scrapping September - a blog series that allows me to share my process of finishing what I call "half baked" pages which are photos + background paper. I have a bunch of these types of started scrapbooking pages and I'm setting this month aside to get them finished!
Some of my "half baked pages" aren't pages at all, rather they are a gathering of photos that I cropped with a layout in mind. I found this bunch of 4x4 photos in a photo storage drawer. I had to look to see when they were taken - they all said 2011 on the back. Maybe these were part of my Week in the Life Project that year? I'm not sure, but they are all about April 2011. The morning routine around here doesn't look all that different now in 2013 - I'm still having Chobani and coffee for breakfast, I drive the same minivan, and I'll probably wear that exact same dress today! But some things are different: both of our doggies are now in Heaven, the kids are going to a different school and we rearranged our house in a major way this past spring.
I adhered the photos to a plain sheet of paper and then cut around the edges so that the photo collage was about 11.5 square and I backed it with some fun patterened paper; but then the middle square looked kind of bare so I cut another square from the patterned paper and put that in the center square. I really tried to find letters that would work within the square, actually I didn't try all that hard; I just started sticking things down and I'm ok that they all don't fit in that neat little square. The only other embellishment I added were three word stickers in light blue that said "I remember", "once upon a time", and "everyday". And with that, I called it done!
I know these aren't the trendiest or most creative layouts I've ever done, but it feels good to get them done and in an album (more on my album storage soon).
